What happens when someone files a DMCA notice about my server?
It arrives at our abuse desk, a human reads it, and it is filed. Our safe-harbour regions sit outside US jurisdiction, so a DMCA notice there is a letter with no statutory force — there is no obligation to act, no counter-notice clock and nothing to relay. We do not email you, we do not null-route the address and we do not suspend anything.
So there is genuinely nothing you will take down?
That is not what this is. Our Acceptable Use Policy prohibits material that is criminal almost everywhere — child sexual abuse material above all, plus fraud infrastructure, malware command-and-control and spam operations. Those are removed on sight and we do not argue about them. What we decline to do is treat an automated copyright complaint as if it carried the same weight.
Which countries are the safe-harbour regions?
Moldova, Bulgaria, Romania, the Netherlands, Iceland, Panama, Malaysia and the Seychelles. We also run standard regions in Germany, Singapore and Japan, where local law applies normally — we label them differently on purpose rather than pretending the whole network behaves the same way.
What do I have to give you to sign up?

A valid order from a court that has jurisdiction over the facility gets followed — that is the honest answer, and a host that claims otherwise is selling you a story. The point of the design is that there is very little to hand over: an email, a crypto balance and an encrypted volume we hold no key for.
