NoDMCAVPS labels its regions by legal posture, not by latency. 8 are safe-harbour placements where an automated copyright notice is filed rather than actioned. 3 are ordinary commercial locations — and we say so on their own pages rather than letting the word “offshore” blur the difference.

The difference is legal, not technical

In the 8 safe-harbour regions, a copyright notice sent under United States law reaches an operator that statute does not reach: no domestic obligation to act, no counter-notice clock, nothing to forward. We log those notices and close them. The 3 standard regions are chosen for latency and hardware, where local law applies in the usual way and we act when it requires us to.

Choosing between them is one trade: legal distance costs milliseconds. If the machine holds a database that would hurt to lose, put it in Chișinău or Victoria and accept the latency. If it serves an interactive audience, put a disposable proxy close to those users and keep the origin far away — that pattern gets you both, and it is the one we recommend most often.

Hardware, support and pricing are identical everywhere. Only the jurisdiction and the routing change.
